The Sunday Sofa

Soft wrinkled linen, loose back down cushions and a relaxed slipcover make for a perfect winter weekend spot for movies and reading. This family size one is from MG called the Nicki. It's looks very inviting. White, is the perfect blank canvas when you need a change. Just add a few pillows and a throw. Easy style change without buying a new sofa. You can even have another slipcover made in darker fabric for winter season look. I don't mind white all year round.

mimicking storage

This bookcase on rolling casters from Hickory Chair creates functionality and portability, especially for those who like moving furniture around as much as I do. The Prado paired just makes the statement twice as good. The iron and the wood lends a bit of flexibility, to play up the contemporary angle in a traditional setting. Good look.

Shades of White

Edit, edit and edit some more. Not a lot of stuff there, sparse yet looks very inviting. Inspiring and fueling a seasonal change. I am feeling the symmetry, soothing monochromatic palate and like the cool blue white mantle with the mocha wing chairs. Not sure where this image came from. It's been in my like-save folder for sometime. Loving the white. It may be time to paint. No it is definitely time to paint and take down long window panels. Change is good.

Flat is Beautiful

Looking for the perfect flats? They are adorable with perfect proportions, sweet silk patterns, so very Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina for $118, J Crew. They are similar to the ones by French Sole well-made and about the same price at £80. So refreshing to see signs of spring!

creative writing tools

To have one creative journal going at one time just isn't enough. I usually have at least three going at one time. It is sort of a creative time capsule. Where I was, what I stumbled across, what's inspiring. A glue pen is also a good companion along with a good variety of pens. I came across The Petit Voyage diary. Good size, 4 inches by 5.75 inches. Fits great in my handbag and I am always on the look for a journal with an elastic to trap any snip-its from my travels inside, should my bag topple over it's safe. It does come with a silly little coordinating pencil. I prefer a good ink pen.

Nous espérons qu'il va pleuvoir.

I think this trench coat will go great with those wellies. If I only had a story to accompany this smart yet mysterious cloak? I'll leave it to J.Peterman; Chic French Raincoat (No. 1842), on sale$129."Spotted in a shop in the Marais; gives me flashbacks to A Woman Is a Woman and Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Water-repellent cotton-nylon blend, fully-lined. Trim double-breasted trenchcoat-style, very pert on a woman, with front flap, adjustable cuffs, notched collar, and deep back vent."

Let it Rain

Don't ruin your cute suede flats in the rain. These houndstooth wellies from Target for under $25 are too smart for that.
Now I just need that perfect trench coat!

Different Kind Of Whisky

What a beautiful design. It has good proportions and a strong setting. It's David Yurman's Three Stone Chatelaine Ring with a whiskey quartz center flanked by citrines on an 18k gold cable band. Just love it!

Under The Sea

There is something about mermaids. Love this sweet fabric on this pencil case from rohmer. Who doesn't need another bag. Only $16 and handmade. The inside is lined in coordinating seahorse fabric.
Items look really well constructed and there are many more fun fabric choices. Good find!
